This program is designed to demonstrate the "Windows-Safe" palette. It is limited in which colors it can produce - only those colors with duplicate digits in the RR, GG, and BB places, and those digits must be either 0, 3, 6, 9, C, or F.

You may remember that every color is made up of a six-digit hexadecimal number, with the first two digits representing the amount of saturation for the red component of the color, the second two representing the green component, and the final two digits representing the blue component.

There are 216 combinations that can be made with these numbers - these correspond to the colors supported by both Windows browsers.

If you'd like to see the names of these colors, you can view them in a document called the named color chart.

There is another program that supports the more advanced colors found in SVGA monitors - Click Here for that.
